CVE-2026-116505
Overview
This vulnerability is a command injection flaw rooted in improper validation of input parameters within the device-information Handler component of TOTOLINK A950RG firmware version 4.1.2cu.5268_B20221104. Specifically, the getDeviceInfo function processes the MAC address argument extracted from the /var/lib/misc/udhcpd.leases file without adequate sanitization, enabling injection of arbitrary commands. The flaw arises from unsafe handling of user-controllable inputs in the device information retrieval mechanism.
Vulnerability Description
A vulnerability was found in TOTOLINK A950RG 4.1.2cu.5268_B20221104. This impacts the function getDeviceInfo of the file /var/lib/misc/udhcpd.leases of the component device-information Handler. The manipulation of the argument MAC address results in command injection. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploit has been made public and could be used.
Impact
An attacker with network access and a privileged user context can execute arbitrary system commands remotely on the affected device. This enables full compromise of the device’s operating environment, potentially allowing data exfiltration, persistent backdoors, or disruption of network services. No user interaction is required beyond network connectivity, and the attacker can leverage this to gain administrative control, leading to significant operational and security impacts in environments relying on the affected TOTOLINK A950RG device.
Solution
TOTOLINK has addressed this issue in firmware updates following version 4.1.2cu.5268_B20221104. Users should upgrade to the latest firmware release available on the official TOTOLINK support site or vendor advisory pages linked in the vulnerability references. The advisory at vuldb.com provides detailed patch instructions and version information. No alternative workarounds are documented; applying the vendor-supplied firmware update is the recommended remediation step.
