CVE-2026-102764

CRITICAL CISA KEV POC Pub 15/10 Upd 17/10

Overview

This vulnerability is an authentication bypass caused by insufficient validation of message origins within internal components of BeyondTrust Remote Support. The affected components fail to verify the source of incoming messages, allowing unauthorized commands to be processed. The flaw resides specifically in the internal message handling mechanism of the Remote Support appliance.

Vulnerability Description

The vulnerability exists within internal components of BeyondTrust’s Remote Support product. The components did not adequately validate the origin of the messages it received. Under the right conditions, this could allow an attacker to perform file operations on the appliance.

Impact

An attacker with network access can perform unauthorized file operations on the BeyondTrust Remote Support appliance without requiring authentication or user interaction. This can lead to unauthorized data manipulation, potential data exfiltration, or disruption of appliance functionality. The lack of origin validation enables attackers to bypass security controls, risking compromise of sensitive support infrastructure and enabling further lateral movement within the environment.

Solution

BeyondTrust has released a security advisory identified as BT26-05 addressing this vulnerability. Users of BeyondTrust Remote Support should apply the patch provided in this advisory promptly. Detailed patch instructions and updates are available at https://www.beyondtrust.com/blog/entry/bt26-05 and the vendor’s knowledge base article KB0024066. Administrators should follow these vendor-specific remediation steps to ensure the appliance is updated to a secure version.
